Reno Gaertner – Engineering Fellow since 2020
Biography
Reno joined Fluke by acquiring Raytek Inc. in 2002 as a Design Engineer. 2003, he joined the leadership team, heading the Engineering Department in Berlin, DE. From 2013 until 2021, he served as the Director of Engineering for Fluke Process Instruments, overseeing three brands with development teams in the UK, China, and Germany. From 2016 until 2021, he also served as the General Manager for Fluke's legal entity in Berlin, DE. Reno has developed competitive products, streamlined FPI's product portfolio, introduced Agile Product Development (APM) and continuously represented the Fluke Brand at external events. In 2021, he joined the Technology Development Team and is now part of the Research and Innovation Team, helping drive Fluke's Technology Roadmap. Reno has a master's in electrical engineering from Dresden University of Technology.
Published Works
Reno has had a hand in many published works covering trends in high-speed infrared process imaging, radiation thermometry and temperature measurement.
Awards
Reno received the Red Dot Design Award (Hannover Trade Show) for designing a portable ECG Recorder.
Accomplishments
Reno has had the pleasure of working with Engineers worldwide on many projects. He is proud of his involvement in developing the world’s smallest stand-alone Infrared Radiation Thermometer (MI3). The MI3 was created in 2010 and is not only small but also provides high accuracy, extremely high variability in its spectral response, and it is fair to say, is smart. The MI3 is still in the market, dominating the segment of high-volume products for monitoring applications in the automation industries.
