November 2022 Edition
Dear Distributors,

Drawing reference from the The Future E-Commerce Trends in Southeast Asia, e-commerce sector in the SEA region is growing rapidly.

Citing the article, “Google's November 2021 survey — e-Conomy SEA 2021, reports that 40 million new internet users came online in 2021, bringing the internet penetration in SEA to 75% and that 350 million SEA digital consumers made at least one purchase online last year.”

The 5 key e-commerce trends in SEA for 2022 and beyond are:
1. Social commerce (buying and selling directly through social media) value is forecasted to reach approximately US$ 2.9 trillion by 2026
2. M-commerce (buying and selling via mobile devices) users in 2021 reached 70 million, according to research
3. Ominchannel (mix of digital commerce and brick-and-mortar store retail) strategies helped businesses improve their customer experience
4. Live commerce and shoppertainment (demonstrating, promoting and selling via a live streaming format) is a phenomenon that will continue to grow
5. The Buy Now Pay Later trend is a popular financing option and the market capitalization in SEA will grow to $33.6 billion by 2027
Opportunity to easily upsell and cross-sell lies within this e-commerce evolution. Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia were cited as emerging markets. As we look forward to 2023, getting ready and dynamically changing our business operations to ride on this e-commerce wave would be beneficial.
